Community Grants Program
Good software is built by happy, well-supported people. The Rust Foundation is proud to support the further development and innovation of Rust by dispensing financial, administrative, and career-development support to community members through the Community Grants Program.
Grant Categories
Fellowships
Up to one year of support for existing Rust Project contributors and maintainers.
- Monthly award of $1,500 USD
- $4,000 allowance for Rust-focused event travel and training
Event Support
Awards that help cover the costs incurred while running Rust community-focused events.
- Discrete awards between $100 and $500 USD
- Individuals, groups, and organizations are eligible to apply
- Available for virtual and in-person events
- Applicable to space rental fees, travel costs, swag, online platform costs, etc.
Hardship Grants
Short-term financial support for active contributors to the Rust Project who have urgent financial insecurity.
