Rust Foundation Welcomes New Members: CodSpeed, Haevek, Perplexity, and Software Stewardship Lab
DOVER, DELAWARE, September 23, 2026 – The Rust Foundation, an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the performance, safety, and sustainability of the Rust programming language, is pleased to welcome four new member organizations: three at the Silver level and one at the Associate level. Rust Foundation members play an active role in the organization’s mission to steward the Rust programming language and its global community. These organizations have demonstrated their commitment to the health of Rust through their membership in the Rust Foundation.

CodSpeed is the performance platform that helps developers improve their code performance and catch regressions before production. Its core tooling is written in Rust, and it powers continuous benchmarking for performance-critical projects in the ecosystem. Joining the Rust Foundation is a way to give back to the ecosystem CodSpeed is built on and to support the long-term health of the language.

Haevek is a data infrastructure company that built a distributed compute engine designed to outperform platforms like Apache Spark, Databricks, and Amazon EMR on cost and throughput, without requiring customers to re-architect existing data infrastructure. Built natively in Rust and running on Kubernetes, Haevek’s Falcon engine relies on the language’s performance and memory-safety guarantees to deliver a faster, more efficient alternative to legacy big-data platforms. The company works closely with government and public-sector customers alongside commercial ones. Haevek joined the Rust Foundation as a Silver Member to support the ecosystem that underpins its core technology.

The Software Stewardship Lab is a non-profit applied research lab dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of the Open Source infrastructure we all rely on. When important Open Source projects break or go away, critical infrastructure such as healthcare and transportation is at risk. One of the things the Stewardship Lab is doing to strengthen this infrastructure is making Rust-based software supply chains more secure by default, by contributing to Rust’s package management ecosystem. The Lab’s members also produce research reports on topics such as maintainer burnout and project governance.
