Welcoming Tina Krauss, the Rust Foundation’s New Program Manager

The Rust Foundation is excited to introduce Tina Krauss as its newest team member. In her role as Program Manager, Tina will facilitate the seamless execution of marketing and communications initiatives. Her key responsibilities include expanding the corporate membership program, developing and delivering impactful events, and launching the Foundation’s training program.

Tina brings over a decade of experience in event and project management, with a strong focus on large-scale conferences and community programs for technical audiences. Her journey into the open source world began at the Drupal Association, supporting the global community behind the Drupal content management framework. Most recently, she served as Senior Event Manager at The Linux Foundation, where she led the planning and execution of the organization’s biggest developer conferences, managing end-to-end logistics and strategic partnerships with sponsors and vendors. With a master’s degree in Cultural Management and professional experience spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, Tina brings a truly international perspective to her work. On her new role, Tina said:

“It’s a really exciting time to be joining the Rust Foundation and the Rust community. The project is growing so fast. More and more major tech companies are building Rust into their core infrastructure, and its presence across open source projects keeps expanding rapidly. At the same time, the Rust Foundation is deeply committed to strengthening and enhancing community support. I’ve worked with a number of fast-moving open source projects and have seen both the incredible opportunities and the unique challenges that come with that kind of growth. I’m excited to draw from my experience and work with the Rust community to build meaningful programs that benefit the wider ecosystem.”

Born and raised in Germany, Tina moved to the United States 15 years ago and is now based in Portland, Oregon. Outside of work, she enjoys the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and can often be found either scrambling up or sliding down a mountain, depending on the season.

Say hi to Tina in person at RustConf 2025 in Seattle this September!
