RustConf 2026: Early Details and What’s Coming Next

RustConf 2026 is coming, and as lead organizer of the event, I’m excited to share a few exciting updates about what the Rust Foundation has been cooking up!
As many of you know, RustConf is the Rust ecosystem’s flagship annual gathering—organized by the Rust Foundation and built to bring our global community together for learning, connection, and inspiration. This year, we’re happy to be returning to Montréal, Canada, which proved to be a fantastic host city when we were there in 2024. The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, especially from those traveling internationally, and Montréal’s welcoming, multilingual tech culture made it an easy choice to come back.
If you joined us in Montréal in 2024, you’ll remember how welcoming and energizing that week was. After a great RustConf in Seattle in 2025, we’re excited to return to Quebec — this time at the Palais des Congrès: a modern and highly accessible venue that offers more space and a more comfortable experience for our growing community.
RustConf 2026 will take place September 8–11, 2026, with both in-person and online participation options so that everyone who wants to be part of the conference can be.
Need a Visa to Attend? Invitation Letters Are Now Available
To support our international community, the Rust Foundation is already offering official invitation letters for attendees who need them to strengthen their visa applications. You can request yours today using this form.
Call for Proposals Coming Soon
Start brainstorming! The Call for Proposals (CFP) will open this month, and we hope to see talk ideas from every corner of the Rust ecosystem—from deep dives and research talks to production case studies, embedded work, developer experience, open source maintainership, and more. Every year, the community’s ideas set the tone for RustConf, bringing fresh perspectives, hard-won insights, and new ways of thinking about Rust. We can’t wait to see what you all submit!
Sponsorship Packages Coming Soon
We’ll soon be publishing our refreshed 2026 sponsorship packages on the RustConf website. Sponsorship is a powerful way for companies to support Rust’s growth while connecting with leaders, contributors, and adopters across the ecosystem. If your organization is interested in sponsoring, keep an eye out for details on rustconf.com.
Looking Back: RustConf 2025’s Impact
Last year’s RustConf was our biggest ever, bringing together 630+ attendees in person, 2000+ remotely, and 30+ speakers. The energy, diversity, and curiosity of the community were on full display.
