Rust Foundation Joins Datadog’s Open Source Program
The Rust Foundation is pleased to announce that we have joined the Datadog Open Source Program, which grants us access to a powerful observability platform that will help our team of engineers better monitor and manage the infrastructure supporting the Rust ecosystem.
Datadog’s SaaS platform integrates infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring (APM), log management, real-user monitoring, and many other capabilities to provide unified, real-time observability and security across an organization’s technology stack. The platform is widely used by organizations of all sizes and across a broad range of industries to support digital transformation, cloud migration, and improved collaboration across development, operations, security, and business teams.
“Rust powers an increasing amount of critical infrastructure across the industry, and the Rust Foundation plays a key role in sustaining that ecosystem. We’re excited to support their work through Datadog’s Open Source Program by providing unified observability to help their team operate reliably at scale.”
— Jeremy Garcia, VP of Open Source, Datadog
Through Datadog’s Open Source Program, the Rust Foundation now benefits from a world-class observability platform that strengthens our ability to monitor infrastructure and respond effectively using clear, actionable data. These capabilities help us ensure that the services and systems the Rust community relies on remain reliable, performant, and secure.
Improved observability enables the Foundation’s infrastructure team to more quickly detect issues, understand system behavior, and reduce time to resolution when problems arise. By bringing together metrics, logs, and traces in a unified environment, Datadog helps us maintain and evolve the infrastructure that supports Rust development and distribution.
“The Rust ecosystem relies on a growing set of services and infrastructure that developers around the world depend on every day,” said Joel Marcey, Director of Technology at the Rust Foundation. “Datadog’s observability platform gives us the insights we need to understand system behavior, identify issues quickly, and keep the services that support Rust running smoothly.”
We are grateful to Datadog for supporting open source projects and communities through this program. Their contribution helps the Rust Foundation continue its mission of stewarding the Rust programming language and ecosystem while ensuring the stability and reliability of the infrastructure that powers it.

Support the Future of the Rust Ecosystem
Organizations that rely on Rust or believe in the long-term health of open source infrastructure can play an important role in supporting the Rust language ecosystem.
The Rust Foundation works with companies around the world to sustain the infrastructure, stewardship, and collaboration that allow Rust and its community to thrive. Contributions from our members and program partners help ensure that critical services remain reliable, that maintainers and infrastructure teams have the resources they need, and that the Rust ecosystem can continue to grow responsibly.
If your organization benefits from Rust, we invite you to join the growing group of companies investing in its future. By supporting the Rust Foundation—whether through membership, infrastructure support, or programs like Datadog’s Open Source initiative—you help strengthen the technical foundation that developers everywhere rely on.
